Our Mission

The National Coalition for Technology in Education and Training (NCTET) is a non-partisan, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of education stakeholders that promotes universal access to innovative teaching and learning by acting as a convener and catalyst for the effective use of technology in education. We envision a world where educators empowered by technology prepare all learners for success in the workforce, citizenship and life.

Based in Washington, DC, and founded in 1993, NCTET organizes policy briefings and issue forums, produces white papers, recognizes exemplary leadership in education and technology, and creates networking opportunities. NCTET's Board includes representatives from the major education associations, leading non-profit organizations, and corporations.

What We Do

NCTET is helping change the education landscape by bringing together the nation’s education, technology and policy leaders to advance education policy and develop programs that advance technology and digital learning for academic and workforce success. NCTET is widely known for hosting the Education Inaugural Ball every four years, a black tie affair where the nation’s technology and education leaders honor the swearing-in of America’s President and Congress. Recent NCTET initiatives include:

  • Hosted the 20th Anniversary of E-Rate Celebration honoring the architects of the program, Senators Rockefeller (WV) and  Markey (MA). The event included a Summit featuring remarks from both Senators, a presentation by Education Superhighway, and a reception attended by 3 of the 5 FCC Commissioners (Rosenworcel, Clyburn, and Carr).

  • Hosted the 2022 NCTET Ball, attended by over 250 people, celebrating the accomplishments of dedicated NCTET members over the years to advance technology's role in education.

  • Critical Issues Forums to showcase to policymaking audiences the application of technology in education, including forums on new technology provisions in ESSA, technology's role in aiding students with disabilities, and a STEM showcase.

  • NCTET Policy Meetings offering education and technology stakeholders an opportunity to obtain and share information on key pending government policies, programs and initiatives with impact on technology's integration into teaching and learning.
